Four arrested in Dahod for 16 thefts committed in schools
Police seized stolen items from accused’s house in Bhandakheda
VADODARA: The Dahod police have detected a series of burglaries that took place in a few schools in the district last year and arrested four persons in connection with the offences.
The gang has admitted to conducting 16 burglaries in schools, including two in Madhya Pradesh (MP).
The burglaries in 14 schools under six different police station jurisdictions in Dahod district had gone undetected so far. Most of the burglaries took place in August and September and the stolen items included computers, televisions, ceiling fans, electric motors, and utensils used for mid-day meals.
The breakthrough was made after the police received information that two persons were coming on a motorcycle with a stolen television to sell it at Katwara village.
The police stopped the duo and questioned them regarding the television.
The duo who — identified as Atul Damor and Arvind Damor, both residents of Bhandakheda village in Ranapur taluka of Jhabua district in MP — could not give a satisfactory reply and admitted that it was stolen.
The police seized more stolen items from their house in Bhandakheda.
According to police, the accused had kept the items at one place and were selling it one by one.
It also came to light that two accused from Nimach Falia village in Garbada taluka of Dahod district — Mehul Ninama and Shailesh Damor — used to identify schools for burglaries.
The gang includes around 10 others from MP and the masterminds are also based in the bordering state. The police have identified the other accused and are trying to nab them.
