Poll observers from EC arrive in Dharwad district

DHARWAD: With less than 20 days remaining for polling to the state assembly election, general observers and police observers appointed by the Election Commission of India, arrived in Dharwad on Friday.
Adityakumar Anand has been appointed as the general observer to Navalgund and Kundgol constituencies and he will be available for the general public at Circuit House in Hubballi every day from 10am to 11am. The following are the poll observers:
Pavankumar Sen: Dharwad Rural and Hubballi-Dharwad East constituencies. He will be available at Malaprabha International Guest House, UAS, Dharwad. Call: 91410 10433.
Muttukrishnan Shankarnarayanan: Hubballi-Dharwad Central and Hubballi-Dharwad West. New Circuit House, Hubballi. Call: 91410 10434.
Manoj Push: Kalaghatagi; Will be available at International Guest House, UAS, Dharwad. Call: 91410 10435.
IPS officer Sujit Pandey has is the police observer for all the seven assembly segments in the district and is available for the general public every day between 10am and 11am at Hubballi Circuit House. Call: 91410 10436.
General observer Pavankumar Sen visited several polling booths in Dharwad city and also mustering and demustering centre at Basel Mission School and inspected the facilities. He asked the district polling officials to provide all basic facilities at the polling booths.
He took stock of the security deployed at the check-posts and asked them to be vigilant to contain election malpractices. The officials should not neglect the model code of conduct and implement it effectively to ensure free and fair elections, said Pavan Kumar Sen.
