Global Buddha Summit 2023 is to bring people together to discuss global issues, says Ven Dr Dammapiya

Speaking to ANI on Global Buddha Summit 2023, Secretary General of International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) Ven Dr Dammapiya said that the main moto of the event is to bring people together from different parts of the world to discuss global issues and crisis. “The main moto of an event like this is to bring people with great mind from different parts of the world and discuss and ponder upon how we can collectively address the challenges and crisis we are confronted with at the local level, regional level and global levels. As we all know that the world is facing crisis in different front and world or mother earth is the only one we have,” he said. “We as Buddhist, do what we can do best to contribute in a positive way. The Buddhists can provide some solution to address the global issue or the crisis. The topics have been discussed are like world peace, well-being, violence, war, terrorism and how the teachings of the Buddha can bring peace and non-violence in the world,” he further added.
