Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan on Thursday remembered Pamela Chopra, the wife of celebrated film-maker Yash Chopra, who passed away at the age of 74. She is survived by her sons - famed producer Aditya and 'Dhoom' star Uday Chopra.
The news of Pamela's sudden demise shook the film fraternity who took mourned her death, who was fondly called Pam Aunty. Soon after the sad news broke out in the media, Big B paid tribute to Pamela and recalled their music sessions together.
The 80-year-old actor took a trip down memory lane to remember Pamela and recalled the music sittings and homely get togethers that the veteran film star had the pleasure of sharing with the noted playback singer.
"The first days are ever a day of expectation and unknown elements .. and the first day today was no different .. the look the people the crew the work it self all alien and in a wonder .. and the topping , the very first scene of the film and a demanding appearance .." Bachchan wrote on his blog.
Further in his post, the actor said that as the news of Pamela's passing came, he felt life come to a standstill.
"In the middle of the efforts made to achieve .. comes the sudden news of the passing of Pamela Chopra, wife of Yash Chopra .. and life comes to a standstill," the 80-year-old added.
"So much to have spent with her and the film making and the music sittings and the outdoors and the homely get togethers .. all gone in a breath .. " Big B wrote.
The actor, who has been part of the film industry for over five decades with more than 150 films under his name, worked with several directors, but his most notable works were executed by Yash Chopra including 'Deewar', 'Kabhie Kabhie', 'Trishul' and 'Silsila'. Bachchan has been part of the YRF for years, visited the Chopra house to meet the family.
Bachchan added: "And one by one they all leave us .. all left with the pleasant times spent ..And after this ordeal of the first day .. a quick visit to Yash ji's home and meeting the family and reliving all those years of the past ..life is so unpredictable and tough."
Pamela was ailing for a couple of weeks and was admitted to a private hospital for treatment where she breathed her last.
