Child labourers rescued

Rajkot: Four child labourers were rescued from a thread manufacturing factory in Lati plot area of Rajkot on Thursday. The government labour officer registered a complaint against the factory owner Aasha Tanvani with the B Division police station. The labour department officials raided the factory based on specific information. They found that children aged 10 to 12 years were engaged in the packaging of thread bundles. The children were sent to a protection home.

Rajkot: An 18-year-old girl from Rajkot was allegedly molested by a neighbour. Gandhigram police booked Rajesh Joshi (35), a salesman working in a perfume shop, under IPC sections 354 (D). The accused followed the girl when she was returning after meeting her friends on Kalavad road. He came near the girl and tried to touch her inappropriately. When the girl started screaming, Joshi ran away. Earlier, Joshi had tried to touch her.
