  • CBI issues notice to former Jammu and Kashmir governor Satyapal Malik to answer queries related to insurance scam: Officials.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has issued a notice to former Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Governor Satyapal Malik to answer queries in connection with the insurance scam in the Union Territory (UT), according to the officials privy to the matter.

Satya Pal Malik reacted to the CBI notice on the insurance scam and said that the investigation agency is looking for some clarifications. Satya Pal Malik said, “The CBI wants certain clarifications in connection with the case reported by me," Satyapal Malik said.

"They want certain clarifications for which they want my presence. I am going to Rajasthan so I have given them dates from April 27 to 29 when I am available," Satya Pal Malik said. He said the CBI has requested his presence at the agency's Akbar Road guesthouse in New Delhi.

The CBI had examined Satya Pal Malik in connection with the alleged scam last year.

In April of the previous year, the CBI filed two First Information Reports (FIRs) in response to corruption accusations made by Satya Pal Malik. The allegations were related to the assignment of contracts for a medical insurance scheme for government employees and civil works worth 2,200 crore to the Kiru hydroelectric power project in Jammu and Kashmir.
