Govt is committed to giving reservation to Maratha community: Maha CM Eknath Shinde

Supreme Court on April 20 dismissed a review petition filed by the then Maharashtra Government challenging the May 05, 2021 judgement on Maratha reservation. The previous judgement declared a law which provides reservation benefits to the Maratha community taking the quota limit in the State in excess of 50 per cent, as unconstitutional. While reacting to the Supreme Court rule, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that the government is fully committed to giving reservation to the Maratha community. “Our government is fully committed to giving reservation to the Maratha community. We will do whatever it takes. We are working on the suggestions given by the Bhosle committee,” Eknath Shinde said during a press conference.
