Man hit by sand-loaded tractor in Barmer, killed

Jaisalmer: A 28-year-old man died after being hit by a tractor illegally carrying river sand at Balotra in Barmer district late on Wednesday evening.
Police said Girdhar Singh, a resident of Lalana, was walking on the road when he was hit by the tractor. Local people rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead. The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem on Thursday.
“The victim was walking to his village when the tractor hit him. It was being driven carelessly and at a high speed. The tractor driver ran away, leaving the tractor,” said a police official. The tractor was seized by Samdari police. tnn
