Prayagraj police teams in assailants’ home dists for clues

Prayagraj: Police teams have been sent to Banda, Hamirpur and Kasganj to compile information about Lavlesh Tiwari, Mohit alias Shani and Arun Maurya – the three assailants who gunned down gangster brothers Atiq Ahmed and Khalid Azaim alias Ashraf on April 15.
Details like close friends and relatives, their educational and family background, profession, image in their respective village/town, activities since childhood, etc are being compiled.
The Prayagraj police will also be coordinating with cops of the concerned districts to collect criminal sketch of the trio, if any.
The trio, presently in police custody, is being questioned by SIT about the main conspirator, availability and sources of sophisticated weapons, reason behind citing religious slogan, how and when they conducted recee and selection of crime spot.
Sources said police are also compiling information about the source of weapons that were used in the crime. The seized weapons have been reportedly sent for laboratory tests.
Teams are also quizzing the attackers whether they had obtained arms handling training anywhere and its purpose.
Sources added that the attackers initially misguided the police teams about the how they obtained such weapons.
