HYDERABAD: Health minister T Harish Rao on Thursday inaugurated a five-bed dialysis centre and blood bank at Nampally Area Hospital.
The minister said that the number of dialysis centres have increased from just three to 102 since 2014.
"This has enabled over 10,000 people to access free dialysis. Apart from the new dialysis centre, the health department has increased the number of government blood banks from 28 to 56 in the state. The government has given component separators to 27 blood banks, which enables a unit of blood to be used for three to four people," the minister said, adding that the BRS was committed to strengthening the state's healthcare infrastructure and was working on several projects to achieve this goal, including the TIMS project, to provide 6,000 super-speciality beds in the state. tnn
