Cops arrest two Brooklyn men for killing family member and concealing body: NYPD

Two men have been arrested for killing a 44-year-old Brooklyn man back in January, then discarding the body so it wouldn’t be found, cops said Friday.

Victim Martin Wright was killed on Jan. 28, but cops didn’t recover his body until after Feb. 7, when a 27-year-old woman walked into the 81st Precinct station house in Bedford-Stuyvesant and told them what had happened.

Wright was inside a relative’s apartment on Monroe St. near Ralph Ave. about 5 a.m. when he died of an apparent head wound inflicted by family member McMillian Wright, cops said.

McMillian Wright, 45, got another relative, identified by police as Craig Smith, to remove the body from the apartment and dump it at another spot nearby.

It was not immediately disclosed where Smith, 48, had dropped the body.

After the woman came forward, cops located Martin Wright’s remains. An autopsy revealed that Wright had died from head trauma.

On April 13, cops rounded up and arrested Smith, who was charged with concealment of a human corpse and tampering with evidence.

He was released the next day after a brief arraignment. Neither criminal charge is considered bail-eligible, court officials said.

Detectives ultimately discovered that the killing took place in McMilian Wright’s home. A motive was not immediately disclosed. McMilian Wright and Martin Wright are related, but cops could not say how Friday.

Cops arrested McMilian Wright on Thursday, charging him with murder, weapons possession, concealment of a human corpse and tampering with evidence. He’s also accused of falsifying business records, but it was not immediately clear what led to that charge.

His arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court was pending.

Cops did not release information on Martin Wright’s death until after McMilian’s arrest.
