Recession fears set stocks on course for weekly drop
Asian stocks slid toward their worst week in a month-and-a-half on Friday and oil nursed losses, while bonds enjoyed their best bid in weeks as U.S. data and earnings showed signs of weakness. Overnight figures showed more Americans filing claims for jobless benefits and manufacturing activity in the mid-Atlantic region slumping to its lowest level in nearly three years.

Reliance Industries, Hindustan Zinc, Bank of Baroda and a slew of other companies will announce their quarterly results today.
SGX Nifty signals a positive start
Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 21.5 points, or 0.12 per cent, higher at 17,686.50, signaling that Dalal Street was headed for positive start on Friday.
Tech View: Nifty charts signal fatigue among bulls, consolidation likely to continue
It was a listless session for Dalal Street, as benchmark Nifty 50 traded in a narrow range amid bouts of profit booking. The index hit a low of 17,584.35 points and a high of 17,684.45 points during the day and settled at 17,624.45 points.
Tokyo stocks open lower tracking US falls
Tokyo stocks opened lower on Friday, tracking falls on Wall Street, where auto sector woes pressured the market.The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was down 0.24 percent, or 68.01 points, at 28,589.56 in early trade, while the broader Topix index lost 0.35 percent, or 7.11 points, to 2,032.62.
Wall Street slides after gloomy earnings led by Tesla
Major U.S. stock indexes ended lower on Thursday after disappointing quarterly reports from companies including Tesla and AT&T, while investors sought clarity on the path of interest rates.

The rupee appreciated 11 paise to close at 82.14 (provisional) against the US dollar on Thursday, as crude oil prices retreated from elevated levels.
Oil prices extend losses on fears of recession and slower oil demand
Oil prices eased on Friday, extending losses from the two previous days and heading for a weekly decline, as softening U.S. economic data and a rise in U.S. gasoline inventories raised concerns about a recession and slower global oil demand.
Sensex, Nifty on Thursday
BSE Sensex ended 65 points or 0.11% higher at 59,632, while Nifty50 rose 6 points or 0.03% to settle at 17,624, bringing an end to their three-day losing run.
