Varanasi: The 6th coordination committee meeting of the International Rice Research Institute South Asia Regional Centre (ISARC) was held on Thursday during which officials discussed forthcoming projects and
budget outline for the next five years.
Also, a review of the past one year’s project activities was done.
Director general of IRRI Jean Balié appreciated the cooperation of the central government and assured the active participation of the ISARC in the field of agricultural research.
ISARC director Sudhanshu Singh apprised the members of various research and training activities of the institute and also presented the details of future plans.
“We are dedicated to the uplift of the farmers of the South Asia region including India,” he said.
The other members of the ISARC Coordination Committee from India, Bangladesh and Nepal also expressed their views.
