Life expectancy in Tristate, Pike County anniversary, today's top stories | Daily Briefing

Hey there! I’m Dan Horn, and I write investigative and enterprise stories for The Enquirer.
My colleague Terry DeMio and I recently teamed up to write about life expectancy in Greater Cincinnati. Did you know that where you live has a lot to do with how long you live?
We spent weeks crunching numbers to see how the region’s neighborhoods compare to one another. And we found huge differences in life spans. People live longest – 88 years – in parts of Indian Hill. The shortest life spans are in Newport, where people live about 62 years. That’s about the same as in Afghanistan.
Why such big gaps?
It’s complicated, but money matters. To learn more about about the disparities in life expectancies around Greater Cincinnati, click or tap here.
