BJP youth worker stabbed to death in Karnataka; 3 held

DHARWAD: Tension prevailed in Karnataka's Kottur after a 36-year-old BJP youth wing functionary was stabbed to death during a temple festival on Tuesday. Three people were arrested in this connection. The attack took place during the Udachamma Devi fair. Two groups got into an argument over the distribution of prasadam.
Praveen Kammar, VP of the gram panchayat and leader of BJP Yuva Morcha, intervened and separated the two groups. Within minutes, members of one group returned and attacked Praveen. They allegedly struck him in the face and then stabbed him in the neck and abdomen. It was not clear whether the murder was politically motivated, police said.
