Man booked for snapping electricity to mobile tower
Rajkot: The Gondal city police have booked three people for allegedly snapping the electricity supply to the main tower of a leading telecom company which resulted in the disruption of service of 115 towers for nearly 10 hours on April 17.
The main accused Bitu Jadeja and his aides also stopped the company’s technician from restoring the power supply. A complaint was lodged by the company’s manager Kamal Shah. Shah got a call from his Mumbai office informing that the electricity of the main tower’s chamber in Gondal town was disrupted. He informed his supervisor Viral Makwana who sent a technician named Mayur Sarvaiya. However, two men sitting outside did not allow Sarvaiya to enter the chamber. Jadeja also messaged Sarvaiya warning him against carrying out the repairs. Sarvaiya then asked Shah to talk to Jadeja and settle the issue. Jadeja demanded that all towers in the plots owned by him be removed and he be allotted tenders of further work.
