“GoI has done well...” UNICEF Health Advisor on India having world highest vaccine confidence

World’s Children 2023 report of UNICEF highlights India as one of the countries with the highest vaccine confidence in the world. Talking on the same, Senior Health Advisor of UNICEF (New York) Dr Lakshmi Narasimhan Balaji, said that India’s highest vaccine confidence in the world indicates that the government has done good and continues to do so. “This means that women, and families believe immunisation is useful for them. It also means that whatever the government has done so well, they continue to do it. During the COVID, there has been some backsliding in terms of immunisation coverage,” said Dr Lakshmi Narasimhan Balaji.
