Thiruvananthapuram: The medical board, which was formed to analyse the death reports of filmmaker Nayana Surya, has rejected the reports that the board has reached a conclusion that her death was due to cardiac arrest. The members of the board snubbed the reports stating that vested interests might be behind such reports as they are intended to mislead the public.
“The eight-member board just assumed the responsibility of analysing the death reports of Nayana on Tuesday, and the reports stated that we could reach a conclusion in just hours. How is that possible? We are shocked to see such reports. Since we are entrusted with the task of unfurling the mysteries behind her death, we discussed a whole lot of aspects during the meeting. We discussed the possibility of myocardial infarction (otherwise called heart failure) as well. But that does not mean we have reached a conclusion that her death was due to myocardial infarction,” said a key member of the board.
The board members during the discussion also pointed out the contradictions in the forensic report and inquest report. “The mention of large wounds on the neck was not there in the inquest report. Similarly, there were other contradictions as well. The chances of a homicide is lesser compared to other possibilities such as suicide or other ailments. However, this is just a preliminary assumption as we have to examine a whole lot of angles and aspects before reaching a conclusion,” said the member.
Spreading false reports will only help affect the quality of the mission, which we are doing, said the member.
