Congress neta seeks Bharat Ratna for Atiq; axed from party, loses civic poll ticket
Congress expelled a Prayagraj unit functionary of the party for six years after a video went viral Wednesday, purportedly showing Raj Kumar Singh aka Rajju pitching for the nation's highest civilian award Bharat Ratna to be conferred on slain gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed. Singh also lost his candidature for the civic polls in the city, reports Kapil Dixit.
Singh visited the grave of Atiq at Kasari-Masari graveyard and shouted slogans: "Atiq amar rahe (long live Atiq)". He put the national flag on the grave and took a pledge that he would seek justice for the don.
