Cylinder blast sparks blaze at illegal LPG shop in Gurgaon

GURGAON: A fire broke out at an illegal LPG refilling shop in Om Vihar, Sector 23 on Tuesday afternoon. No injuries were reported.
Fire officials said that four LPG cylinders explod-ed and a motorcycle parked in front of the shop turned to ashes.
“There was no one inside of the shop when the fire broke out and no one received any injury. We got information about 12.45pm about the fire in a shop in Om Vihar locality. Two fire engines from Udyog Vihar fire station were rushed to douse the flames,” fire official Lalit Kumar said.
Kumar added that the police were informed on the matter and were investigating if the shop was illegally filling LPG gas, which can cause major problems for nearby residents.
"It took more than an hour to douse the flames. Police have started an investigation into the matter," fire officials said.
