A woman suffering from low blood pressure, who was stuck in her car as it caught fire after hitting a stationary truck from behind in Pune on Wednesday, was rescued by an unidentified Good Samaritan who broke the glass of the car with his helmet and took her out. The Pune Fire Brigade officials are now looking for the man, who left after rescuing the woman.

The fire brigade officials said that the incident took place around 10.25 am in front of the Aga Khan Palace on the Pune-Ahmednagar road on Wednesday. The SUV rammed into a stationary dumper truck from behind and the impact resulted in a fire in the SUV’s engine section, officials added.

“The unidentified Good Samaritan broke the window with his helmet and took the woman out and walked her to safety. Meanwhile, security guards from a nearby establishment called the fire brigade control room and our fire tender was dispatched. Our team brought the fire under control within minutes,” Fire Officer Sopan Pawar said.

“As the woman, who is in her 30s, was feeling dizzy, an ambulance was called. Meanwhile, her husband also came to the spot. The paramedics checked her and found out that she had low blood pressure. She was moved to the hospital. People have told us that her car brushed with a couple of bikes before she hit the dumper truck,” Pawar added.
