Meolaa, an ecommerce platform, announced a seed round of funding sponsored by Dr. Ranjan Pai of Manipal Education and Medical Group. However, the startup did not reveal the amount of money.
The business stated that the extra funding would be used to grow its operations and reach new clients. Meolaa intends to use the cash to hire key leadership team members in primary functions such as category, marketing, logistics and customer service, and product and engineering.
It also intends to increase its workforce to 35 people in the coming quarter.
Ishita Sawant founded the Bengaluru-based firm in 2022 to provide a platform for brands to promote their products and to bridge the gap between sustainability and lifestyle.
Meolaa is a direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales platform that enables brands and sellers to self-manage their businesses and engage directly with customers. According to the site, it has onboarded over 750 businesses and over 50,000 products across six primary verticals. As of March 2023, it had a workforce of 20 people and a user base of 3 lakh.
