Startups from Europe see Hyderabad as a favoured location
European entrepreneurs showcased their innovations at the Blue Carpet Night event at T-Hub on Tuesday.
HYDERABAD: Search for investors, distribution partners, technical support, among other resources has brought a cohort of entrepreneurs from Europe to T-Hub. On Tuesday, many of them showcased their innovations - most of them in the healthcare space - at the incubator.
Speaking to TOI, the participants said that the strong health ecosystem of Hyderabad is one of the primary reasons they choose the city as a favoured location.
"We are health startups, and I feel Hyderabad is the place to be in," Javier Jimenez, cofounder, NBS told TOI. "We met with representatives from KIMS and LV Prasad, and will be going to Apollo Hospitals. I am hoping we will entering into some collaboration with a hospital here to work on infant meningitis and eye infections," he added.
Juliane Frommter, programme head of EU-India Innocenter said: "We want to make use of the ecosystem here and do some matchmaking for the startups." These startups are a part of EU-India Innocenter.
At T-Hub, the eight startups showcased their technologies to a handpicked group of Indian corporates, ecosystem partners, government representatives and investors. Six of the startups - Spotlite, AEInnova, New Born Solutions (NBS), Resistomap, Bosaq, and Foliomax - are on their maiden trip to India. The other two - AgeVolt and Cast - were in Bengaluru last year.
"Our team has developed Neosonics, a first-class medical device that uses high-resolution ultrasound, AI algorithms to automatically count... white blood cells in the cerebrospinal fluid in infants. With our innovation, we want to make meningitis detection and monitoring in infants simpler," said Jimenez, adding that they are looking for on-site technical support and clinical usability, among others.
These startups are addressing various grassroots issues such as providing clean water to remote areas, detecting landslides or possibility of huge trees collapsing, and issues that major companies are facing such as cost cutting on cloud space and reducing waste of heat energy by converting it into electrical energy.
"We are here looking for a company to distribute our product in India and carry out inland scientific field test," said Foliomax's Bojan Molj. "Foliomax is 100% natural and ecological plant growth enhancer. The product will be very useful for farmers in India."
Prior to the start of the event, the startups from Europe met various startups at T-Hub and others. They will be visiting IIIT Hyderabad, Apollo Hospitals, among others to meet like-minded startups before heading to Bengaluru on Wednesday evening.
