Ranchi: City schools in Ranch have announced
holiday on Wednesday in the wake of Jharkhand bandh called by students’ union against the state government’s employment policy. The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has also rescheduled its Class XI exams to April 20.
Treasurer of Sahodya School Complex, Niraj Kumar Sinha said, “All CBSE schools will remain closed due to bandh for the safety of students and teachers.”
Some institutions, however, have announced to hold online classes on Wednesday. Schools, such as Firayalal School and DAV Hehal, will conduct online classes. Principal of DAV Hehal School, S K Mishra, said, “We will conduct online classes."
ICSE schools such as Bishop Westcott Boys School, Bishop Westcott Girls School, St Xavier's School, St Francis School, St Anthony's School among others will remain closed. An official of JAC said, “As the bandh will be observed in entire state, we do not want candidates to experience any difficulties. Therefore, the exams have been postponed for Thursday."
