BENGALURU: A 34-year-old woman died after falling from the fourth floor of a building at Kothanur Dinne, near Puttenahalli, JP Nagar, on Tuesday.
Police identified the deceased as Sonu Poojari, a homemaker. She was living in a five-storeyed building at Kothanur Dinne and was the prime suspect in the murder of Vijayamma aka Vijaya, a beautician, on March 13, 2018.
Police said the incident occurred around 6am. Sonu lived with one Niranjan Poojari in a rented house. She was alone at home when the incident took place, as her live-in partner was away in Mumbai. Poojari, who flew to Bengaluru in the evening after being alerted about her death, told police Sonu was suffering from depression and had been receiving treatment.
Police, however, said they are yet to conclude if it was an accidental fall or she jumped to her death.
Sonu had been arrested earlier for the death of her adoptive mother Vijayamma. Vijayamma was allegedly murdered by Sonu and her friend B Kumar on March 13, 2018. The duo fled after taking gold and other valuables from Vijayamma's house. Cops arrested them on March 14, 2018. Sonu spent over two years in jail before getting bail. tnn
