Ludhiana: Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ludhiana, and Punjab chapter of Federation of Indian Export Organisation (FIEO), on Tuesday organised a session with Union minister of state for commerce and industry Som Parkash.
Prominent exporters and importers from the city and senior customs and GST department officials were also present. Major issues flagged by the industry was of risky exporters and withholding of IGST refunds by the departments.
MoS Som Parkash said, “The government is committed to support export fraternity as well as domestic industry, so they are able to explore their full potential. For this, various policies and supportive schemes have been introduced, and we are making huge progress under the leadership of PM Modi. India is able to achieve aggregated exports of USD 770 billion in 2022-23, from about USD 500 billion in 2020-21; these are really encouraging signs.” tnn
