Shane Lowry’s Srixon Z-Star XV golf balls are marked with a little green shamrock.
It’s one of the luxuries of having a lucrative golf ball contract, but you don’t need a Claret Jug to make your golf ball stand out from the crowd.
Limerick’s Fergus Chawke from Irelandgolfballs.ie markets a golf ball stamper – available at Portmarnock, Doonbeg, The Island, Faithlegg and Royal Dublin among others – offering over 200 designs from the best-selling shamrock to the harp, pint glass, various animals and a host of emojis.
Available in blue, black, red and green, each stamp is good for approximately 150 impressions as the ink is permanent after leaving it to dry for 15-20 seconds.
While he also sells used quality balls, ball markers and other paraphernalia and provides a logo printing service for golf balls and accessories, the stamper retails for €10.45 (incl. p&p) with a discount for two or more.
“We supply several clubs nationwide with the ball stamper and personalise it to include their club logo,” explains Fergus, father to Ben (13) and Conor (10).
“My golf has taken a back seat in recent years, but thanks to Conor expressing a keen interest and doing lessons in Ballyneety, I could find myself back on the course before long!”
