TVS Motor Company(up 2.26 per cent), Bajaj Auto(up 0.82 per cent), TIINDIA(up 0.75 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.48 per cent) and Eicher Motors(up 0.36 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 1.87 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(down 1.23 per cent), MRF(down 0.95 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International(down 0.8 per cent) and Bharat Forge(down 0.78 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was up 0.01 per cent at 13005.9 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 30.2 points at 17629.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 118.39 points at 59608.62.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Tata Steel, Zomato Ltd., Bank of Maharashtra and Piramal Pharma Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Mangalam Worldwide Ltd., Kamat Hotels, Faze Three Ltd, Shera Energy Ltd. and Nintec Systems Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sanco Industries, Cyber Media Ltd, Orient Electric, Vikas Multicorp and Udayshivakumar Infra hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
