The Good Morning America co-host added another milestone to his impressive resume this April when he when was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.
"Sports has been the most valuable thing outside of family that I've had, and I'm so grateful for the great sport of football," Strahan said while accepting the honor at a ceremony in Waco on April 15.
Before he helped lead the New York Giants to their Super Bowl win in 2008 after a 15-year career as the NFL team's defensive end, Strahan played football for Westbury High School in Houston and later for Texas Southern University where he holds the school record for quarterback sacks.
After graduating from TSU, Strahan was selected All-America first-team to the NFL Draft in 1993 and later inducted into the Black College Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
Strahan was also inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014. His No. 92 Giants jersey was retired in 2021.
"Honored to officially be a member of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame," he wrote on Instagram after the ceremony. "Grateful to have my mom, brothers, sister, and friends in attendance with me. Congratulations to the entire class of 2023."
