Indian mountaineer Baljeet Kaur found alive from Mt. Annapurna in Nepal

SHIMLA: Renowned Indian mountaineer Baljeet Kaur (28) from Solan district of Himachal Pradesh who had gone missing near Camp IV while descending from the Annapurna 1 summit point in Nepal has been successfully rescued by the Pioneer Annapurna Expedition.
“We are thrilled to report that after being air-lifted from the mountain, Baljeet Kaur has safely arrived at Annapurna Base Camp and will soon be flown back to Kathmandu for medical examination,” Pioneer Annapurna Expedition posted on its Facebook page.
Annapurna is the 10th highest mountain in the world at 8,091 metres above sea level and is well known for the difficulty and danger involved in its ascent. It is situated in the Annapurna mountain range of Nepal.

Pioneer Annapurna Expedition further wrote that Baljeet's accomplishment is truly remarkable, and they can't help but admire her strength, courage, and unwavering determination.
“Her extensive training, preparation, and skills have played an instrumental role in helping her overcome this daunting incident. We applaud her for her outstanding achievement and commend her for being an inspiration to us all,” it said while thanking all Pioneer Adventure team members along with the Helicopter Rescue and all Annapurna Expedition members who helped for this successful rescue mission.
The mountaineers including Baljeet Kaur from India, Pasang Sherpa, and Kami Sherpa from Nepal has conquered Annapurna I peak on Monday. According to the information provided by the Pioneer Adventure Annapurna Expedition, the road to reaching the summit was no easy feat, but these mountaineers have proven that with proper preparation, unwavering determination, and a willingness to take risks, anything is possible.
But while descending from the Annapurna 1 summit point, Baljeet Kaur had gone missing after which an aerial search operation was started to ensure a safe and successful outcome. After hours of efforts finally the search team had managed to establish contact with Baljeet Kaur after which a rescue operation was launched and finally, she was air-lifted from the mountain.
Baljeet Kaur was the first Indian to scale all four 8,000 m summits in less than a month period last year. Before heading for the expedition, Baljeet Kaur on March 28 had visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar to seek the blessings for the successful expedition and she had also tweeted a pic of her visit.
Right before the start of her expedition, some of the main sponsors had backed out and despite this she continued with the expedition and on April 8, she had tweeted that “Strength doesn't always come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through difficulties and decide not to give up, that is strength.”
