Margao: Madgaon Royals clinched a thrilling win over PDK Kings in a closely contested match in the EMR Sarsangan Super Series Men’s T20 Cricket tournament. The Royals won the match by 1 wicket and 4 balls to spare, thanks to a gritty batting display by Mihir Audi and Raunak Nargundker.

PDK Kings, who were put into bat first, struggled to get going and lost their top 3 batsmen early on. However, a solid partnership between Ved Mahambrey and Prasheel Kamat steadied their innings. Gaurav Gaitonde played a brilliant knock of 50 not out, but the Kings could only manage to post a total of 144/6 in their allotted 20 overs.

The Royals also started poorly, losing three quick wickets in the first 4 overs. However, they managed to recover thanks to some resistance shown by Damodar Pai Patnekar and Sarin Pai Kane.

A crucial 41 run partnership between Mihir Audi and Raunak Nargundker took the game away from the Kings. Although the Royals lost 3 wickets in quick succession, they managed to get over the line with Vikram Gaitonde and Shaunit Sawardekar holding their nerves. Aditya Dalal, who picked up 2 crucial wickets for the Royals, was awarded the EMR Man of the Match medal and a pair of batting gloves.

The Royals’ victory saw them qualify for the knockout stage of the tournament. It was a thrilling encounter that kept the spectators on the edge of their seats until the very end.
