CHENNAI: The
Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency (TNeGA) on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Bank for integrating the Indian Bank Payment Aggregator with the e-governance applications of various state government departments.
While all the state government departments can avail the plug and play platform for any payment-related needs, the payment aggregator platform services will offer timely and cost effective solutions to these departments besides providing citizens and businesses with a seamless payment experience. This platform facilitates an integrated payment mechanism for online payment and collection through aggregation and reconciliation services with multiple payment channels such as debit/credit cards, UPI payment wallets, net banking, e-challans and e-₹UPI.
Indian Bank has agreed to render the payment aggregator service and enable e-payments on a ‘Pay as Per Use model/Opex model’ which is priced cheaper than available market options, according to a statement. The MoU was signed in the presence of state minister for information technology and digital services (IT & DS) Mano Thangaraj, IT&DS secretary J Kumaragurubaran and Mahesh Kumar Bajaj, executive director, Indian Bank.
“This MoU will enable easy access, transparency and quick delivery in services and cater to one of the top priorities of the TN government," another statement quoting Mahesh Kumar Bajaj added.
