ReutersShares of Lupin(up 6.14 per cent), Biocon(up 3.64 per cent), Divis Laboratories(up 3.41 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(up 3.38 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 2.99 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(down 0.92 per cent), Natco Pharma(down 0.62 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 0.39 per cent), Sanofi India(down 0.16 per cent) and Abbott India(down 0.03 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 1.64 per cent up at 12607.35.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 46.7 points at 17660.15, while the BSE Sensex stood down 183.74 points at 59727.01.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 28 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, IDFC First Bank, Suzlon Energy, BHEL and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Ksolves India, Likhitha Infra, Aki India, Precision Camshaft and Camlin Fine Sc hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Party Cruisers Ltd., Nirman Agri Genetics, Avalon Technologies Ltd., Optiemus Infra and Udayshivakumar Infra hit their fresh 52-week lows.
