BJP denies Krishnaraja ticket to Ramadas; Srivatsa in fray
Mysuru: Four-time BJP MLA and former minister SA Ramadas has been denied the party ticket to contest from Krishnaraja in the city. The sitting MLA has been replaced by TS Srivatsa, the party’s city unit president. It will be the first election for Srivatsa. Former Mysuru Urban Development Authority chairman HV Rajiv was also in the race for the BJP ticket.
Meanwhile, Ramadas has kept his option open to fight as a rebel.
“On Tuesday, I will visit my constituency to seek people’s opinion. I will place a box in the segment asking voters to give their opinion. I will go with people’s advice,” he told TOI.
His supporters who gathered in front of his house in Vidyaranyapuram shouted slogans against BJP leaders for declining the ticket to their leader.
Within minutes after BJP denied ticket to Ramadas, senior leaders including Mysuru MP Pratap Simha, rushed to the sitting MLA's house around 8 pm. But Ramadas refused to meet them. Srivatsa, who has got the ticket, was with them. Sources said Ramadas has conveyed to them that he will meet the party leaders on Tuesday. TNN
