GURGAON: A district grievance committee meeting dedicated to solve issues related to MCG will be organised on April 29. This will be the first grievance committee meeting to redress complaints over civic problems. Till now, grievance committee meetings took up complaints on complaints on all problems faced by residents.
Agriculture and farmer welfare minister J P Dalal on Monday said a large number of complaints at district grievance committee are related to MCG and there is a need for separate meetings to address the issues related to the civic body.
“The government is a committee for corruption free and responsible governance,” said Dalal, urging the officials to ensure early resolution of grievances and complaints of the common people.
The minister was in Gurgaon on Monday to chair the monthly district grievance committee meeting during which 14 issues were taken up and 11 were resolved.
The minister, while hearing complaints about encroachment on government land, directed officials to survey the areas falling under 900 metre radius of ammunition depot and Sector 17-18 to identify encroachment on the government land.
After the survey, the government agencies have to remove the encroachments from the government land.
The issue of poor upkeep of Leisure Valley Park in Sector 29 was raised by the residents, and the minister directed the GMDA officials to ensure the musical fountain of Leisure Valley Park become functional.
“The parks have an important role in the development of the city. GMDA officials should focus on improving facilities at the park and its upkeep and beautification,” said Dalal, adding that he will also visit the park to check the works done by the authority.
