Policy Expert reveals recruitment drive

new-job-1

Personal lines insurtech Policy Expert has confirmed plans to add 26 people across its technology, customer services and operational divisions.

In an exclusive interview with Insurance Age last month, Policy Expert’s chief operating officer Adam Powell revealed that having had more than 600 staff in August 2022, it is approaching a headcount of 700.

The latest expansion will take the business through the 700 barrier by the end of 2023, as it recruits eight people in technology, five in customer services and 13 for internal operations.

Recruitment

The business detailed that it was enhancing its recruitment process with a blind hiring process at the interview stage. A blind hiring process is designed to focus on skills and experience, and removes identifying factors such as candidates’ names and age.

The company flagged that it is offering flexible and hybrid working across all roles as standard, and enhanced maternity/paternity policies that give parents up to 16 weeks fully paid maternity, and up to four weeks fully paid paternity leave.

According to Policy Expert, it is continuing to promote the importance of diversity and inclusion for the insurance industry, and has recently launched a partnership with CodeFirstGirls to help women get into the technology industry by offering them free technical courses and career pathways.

The company also highlighted the introduction of a “Women at Work” forum, and tailored mentoring programmes, which it said will give a voice and opportunities to people from every background.

Talented team

Powell commented: “At Policy Expert, we’ve developed rapidly from start-up to scale-up and achieved sustained, efficient and profitable growth.

“We’re proud to have built a team that always looks to bring positive changes to our customers and transform what people can expect from insurance. We look forward to working with talented individuals and accelerating our growth plan.”
