Hitachi vs Daikin

if you asked this last year , would have advised to go with daikin just because of their 5 yr warranty on pcb . But now , mostly all the companies are giving 5 yrs warranty on pcb on the models launched this year with the new iseer rating . So it all boils down to the customer service of the particular brand in your area.

Exactly now days it all boils down to the customer service in your area. Also avoide inverter ACs especially from daikin as they have a super high pcb breakdown problem basically if you don't have a servo in your house (mostly don't) any fluctuations in the voltage have increased chances of blowing out the pcb. Source is my friend is a authorised daikin and Mitsubishi channel partner.

what is a servo?

But why is that most of the A/C technicians are against inverter ac's? I have a Daiken inverter a/c for over a year and half and touch wood it is working without any problem as of now.

Because they last longer and create less work for technicians.

It's a hit or miss and when I say they fail a lot that doesn't mean all the ac's they produce are faulty, it's just that the failure rate it a little bit higher and that they don't like power fluctuations (sorry for my vague terminology not a technical person) Personal I too have daikin ac's in my office and house and non have failed on me to this date especially the office one is running since 2014 so almost 10 years and since Daikin have factory here in india replacement parts are easily available and can be arranged at a short time period the same can't be said for Mitsubishi right not, during the covid period they had parts shortage of 6 months which was mind boggling at that time but hey that was a tuff time for all of us.

I sold my Hitachi Window AC with in an year so my experience with them is bad where as Daikin split AC bought couple of years back work great. Also bought 2T Carrier Window AC last week so far so good.

For last 3 years, I have been buying Split AC of 1.5 tonnages. Here's my experience so far;
Mitsubishi is said to be the King as it provides "industrial grade cooling" in residential space, which is just a colloquial way of saying that they have a higher flow rate owing to bigger and better fans and motors. But that also translates into higher costs. Last week I got a quote for 65K for the 1.5-ton model.
In 2021, I bought 2 1.5-ton AC; a Hitachi 1.5-ton Non-Inverter model for my village home lobby and a General 1.5-ton 5-star Inverter AC for my bedroom of the house.
In 2022, I bought 2 1.5-ton AC, both Daikin units, one 3 star Inverter and one Non-Inverter unit. The inverter unit was put in my mother's bedroom while the non-inverter unit was installed in my guest area in my city home.
The Hitachi unit has worked fine without any hitch till now and the same goes for Daikin ones. The only major difference between the 2 manufacturers I noticed was the way how both "boot up" the AC. While the Hitachi one gets up and running within a minute of powering it ON, the Daikin one takes a bit of time due to its "self-cleaning" mechanism.
Other than that, there's no major difference in performance across the 2 brands.
