Uttarakhand Police on alert, beefed up security in state after Atiq and Ashraf shootout

Following the killings of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf in Prayagraj, Uttarakhand Police has beefed up security and have intensified verification of those who meet Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in Uttarakhand. Speaking to ANI about the security measures, ADG V Muruheshan said that the district SPs have been instructed and the police are on alert and will take care of the security. He also informed that a security plan will be led as per the classification of the security. ADG V Murugesan said, “All the district SPs have been instructed on the day of the murder of Atiq Ahmed. Our police are alert and will take care of security if anything suspicious happens at any place. As per the classification of the security, a security plan will be led under instructions that are issued and reiterated to the District Police Chiefs.”
