Noted SAD leader joins BJP

Ludhiana: In a setback to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), its former councillor Sarabjit Singh Garcha joined Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) on Monday. Garcha’s joining took place in Jalandhar, where party’s Punjab affairs in-charge Vijay Rupani were present. Jiwan Gupta, general secretary, BJP Punjab said, “Renowned SAD leader from Ludhiana Sarabjit Singh Garcha joined BJP with his supporters. This will expand the network of our party, especially in Dhandari area.” Garcha expressed gratitude to the BJP leaders and said, “We will work day and night to bring more like-minded people to the party fold. There is no doubt that BJP will very soon become a force to reckon with in Punjab and all elections, including the Jalandhar byelections will be swept by our party only.” tnn
