Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Abdul Sattar on April 18, reacted to the ongoing politics in Maharashtra. He said that Ajit Pawar plays a big role in Maharashtra politics. While speaking to ANI, Abdul Sattar said, “Ajit Pawar plays a big role in Maharashtra politics. He is a veteran leader of the Nationalist Congress Party. I came to know about all these through news channels about the discussions that are going on in Maharashtra.” On April 18, NCP leader and former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, denied media reports claiming he had the backing of a section of his party MLAs in his rumoured bid to switch over to the BJP. Speculations have abounded lately of Ajit Pawar joining the BJP. Rumours of his saffron switch gained ground after he recently hailed the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi while adding he had full faith in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), in a remark seen as a departure from the Opposition line on the subject.
