BJP points at ‘graft’ in mining sector

Bhubaneswar: The BJP on Monday alleged that the state government is losing crores of rupees as revenue and witnessing massive corruption in mining sector due to the nexus between the government and private mining lessees.
BJP national spokesperson and Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi said at a news conference that high-grade chrome and manganese ores from the state were passed off as low grade. “It happened in case of iron ore earlier,” he added.
The BJD spokesperson did not wish to comment on this issue.
