JSS Medical College convocation tomorrow

Mysuru: As many as 205 students of JSS Medical College will receive degrees at the convocation ceremony at JSS Medical Institutions Campus on Wednesday. Principal Dr H Basavana Gowdappa told reporters on Monday that 11 meritorious students will receive gold medals and 12 graduating students will get cash prizes.
Dr Pratima Murthy, director, National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bengaluru, will be the chief guest and deliver the convocation address after bestowing the awards and medals to the meritorious students, at 4.30pm. She is also a senior professor of psychiatry at NIMHANS.
The teaching faculty will be honoured with the best teacher award, the research excellence award for the highest number of publications and the highest number of citations and the prestigious Professor YT Thathachari endowment prize for the best research publication.
Suttur mutt seer Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami will grace the occasion. CG Betsurmath, the executive secretary of JSS Mahavidyapeetha will preside over the programme. TNN
