Jharkhand man booked for issuing death threat to UP CM Yogi Adityanath

The Uttar Pradesh police have booked a man from Jharkhand who issued a death threat to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The case has been registered in Kotwali police station Baghpat, UP.

The man shared a post on Facebook vowing to kill CM Yogi Adityanath, a screenshot of the same was tweeted to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, state Director General of Police and other high rank officials.

The man has been identified as Aman Raja from Jharkhand.

Baghpat police circle officer DK Sharma notified that a case was registered against Aman Raja at Baghpat’s Kotwali police station on Monday.

The law and order situation in UP has been in question since the murder of gangster Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed late on Saturday night inside a medical complex of Prayagraj, UP, in the presence of heavy security three shooters gunned down the Ahmed brothers on camera.

Some reports have claimed that after the murder of Atiq Ahmed, there are also possible life threats to CM Yogi. Immediately after the murder on Saturday night, the security deployment was increased outside Chief Minister residence in Lucknow.

Section 144 of the CrPc was imposed across all 75 districts of the state to prevent any unwanted disturbance in the state’s law and order situation.

The UP Police has been closely monitoring the security situation in the entire state as post murder incident, threat prevails over the head and the lapse in the security arrangements is already under large criticism by different sections.

The Chief Minister in the last few months have received multiple death threats, post which the police with the help of cyber cell has successfully cracked down the cases and also has made arrests in regard to it.

In August 2022, a man identified as Sharfaraz was arrested from Mewat, Rajasthan who threatened to kill CM Yogi Adityanath via Whatsapp.

Sambalpur ASP Tapan Kumar Mohanty said the delegation was denied permission as they were not following the provision under section 144 and as there is a curfew into force, they are not allowed to enter into the town.

On Tuesday, a BJP delegation headed by Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Tribal Affairs Bishweswar Tudu along with several other BJP MPs and MLAs were detained while they were entering into Odisha’s violence hit Sambalpur town.

On Wednesday last week, a communal clash erupted in Sambalpur during a motorbike rally which led to the suspension of internet services across the town for 48 hours. Later, on Friday evening, on the eve of Hanuman Jayanti during a rally, another violence was taken into action in which a youth lost his life and several shops were gutted into fire.

Post Friday’s incident, the district administration imposed Section 144 of the CrPc across the town in order to bring back peace and normalcy in the town.

The delegation were stopped at the entrance of the city at Sripura Chhak and were denied permission by the officials to enter into the city and later they were detained taking them to the nearby Therkoli police station.

The delegation includes Minister Tudu, Sundergarh Lok Sabha MP Jual Oram, Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari, state BJP chief Manmohan Samal, former state unit chief Sameer Mohanty along with several other party leaders and MLAs.

Minister Tudu has condemn the Odisha government for preventing a Union Minister’s visit to the town where a tribal youth became the victim of the violence. He said as a minister of the Tribal Affairs it is his duty to meet the victim’s family members and he will raise this issue before the central government.

He informed the reporters who present at the spot that the administration were prior informed about their visit.

MP Suresh Pujari hit out at the state government said the government is scared of the exposure of the police inefficiencies by their visit and has blamed that the police have failed to arrest the killers of the tribal youth.

State BJP chief Manmohan Samal also said that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik fears that the BJP leaders might bring into limelight the inefficiencies of the town police in handling of the violence.

The deceased youth has been identified as 30 year old Chandra Mirdha, a resident of Burla who was allegedly stabbed with a knife while he was returning from a Hanuman Jayanti celebration on Friday last week.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath makes big statement on Tuesday after slain gangster Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf’s murder, the one which challenged the law and order situation in the state.

Chief Minister Yogi while addressing an event of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for textile parks setup in Lucknow and Hardoi assuring the industrialists of the state said no professional criminal or a mafia can now threaten an industrialist over the phone.

He added saying that Uttar Pradesh was once famous for riots and that just the names of some districts used to scare the people but he assured that now there is nothing to be scared of.

CM Yogi also took a jab at former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav’s SP government stating that in a period of 5 years between 2012-2017, UP witnessed 700 riots but since his government has held the power, not a single riot situation has been reported till now and he claimed that never a situation arise to impose a curfew.

Reaching out to the industrialists and investors, Yogi invited to invest in the state and setup industries guaranteeing effective law and order arrangements in the state.

The Chief Minister’s remarks came a time when the entire law and order along with the security arrangements of the state is on question post the murder of dreaded gangster Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf Ahmed in police custody, in the presence of around 20 policemen laced with weapons.

CM Yogi’s remarks is being seen as an assurance note to the potential investors of the state, who are reportedly in a state of fear to setup businesses and industries in the state after this incident.

The killing of Ahmed brothers have shocked the entire nation, especially the people of Uttar Pradesh as three assailants out of nowhere posed as journalists killed the gangster and his brother on camera at point blank range firing several rounds from pistols, which are said to be imported from a foreign country.

Srinagar-Delhi SpiceJet flight returns to Delhi airport due to false cargo fire warning

Full emergency was declared at 10:40 am on Tuesday for SpiceJet’s Delhi-Srinagar flight SG 8373.

In another airline-related incident, the Srinagar-bound SpiceJet flight returned to Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport after the company received a false fire warning in the cockpit.

The airline in a statement said On April 18, SpiceJet B737 aircraft operating flight SG-8373 (Delhi-Srinagar) returned to Delhi as the AFT cargo fire light illuminated in the cockpit.

Soon after, the full emergency was declared for the Delhi-Srinagar flight carrying 140 passengers.

The statement further read, Full emergency was declared at 10:40 am on Tuesday for SpiceJet’s Delhi-Srinagar flight SG 8373. The flight landed back at IGI Airport safely.

SpiceJet reported that the light was later extinguished by the captain’s efforts and that, prior to landing, all operational metrics had been seen to be within normal limits. The airline further said, subsequently, upon opening of AFT cargo no sign of fire or smoke was found, and based on initial assessment, the warning was observed to be false.

The aircraft landed safely and passengers were deplaned normally, it added.

Earlier in the day, IndiGo airline issued a statement stating that its flight en route to Nagpur from Mumbai on April 14 suffered a tail strike while landing at the airport.

Two days ago, an IndiGo flight en route to Bagdogra had to make an emergency landing at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport after it suffered a technical glitch. There were more than 200 people onboard. An alternate aircraft was provided for the passengers to be flown to Bagdogra.
