HYDERABAD: The Telangana high court on Tuesday concluded its hearing into the anticipatory bail petition filed by
Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy, reserved its judgment till April 25 and directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) —
which is probing the murder of former Andhra Pradesh minister YS Vivekananda Reddy — not to arrest him till then.
Justice K Surender’s interim order came as a huge relief for the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) MP, who is a suspect in the murder case.
The CBI has already indicated that it may make him an accused and may arrest him if warranted.
In a parallel development, the CBI court in Hyderabad granted custody of two accused —YS Bhaskar Reddy, father of Avinash, and their follower Uday Kumar Reddy — to the CBI for six days of custodial interrogation.
In fact, Avinash too was under notice to appear before the CBI and answer the queries of the investigators.
Justice Surender directed the Kadapa MP to appear before the CBI for six days from Wednesday.
The judge allowed the CBI to question him along with other accused but asked them to record the quiz session.
