(Representational/File) A gang of miscreants went on a rampage in the Pandav Nagar area of Pune and damaged at least 20 vehicles in the early hours of Monday following a dispute between two local groups over supremacy in the area, the police said Tuesday.
The incident took place around 12.30 am on Monday as a group of 18 to 20 miscreants brandishing machetes and wooden sticks went on a vandalism spree in the PMC colony in Pandav Nagar area and also terrorised local residents and people from the rival group.
The gang also attacked one Sonu Awaghade (25) with a machete. Sub Inspector Rupesh Chalke, who is investigating the case, said that the incident was a fallout of rivalry between two local groups over supremacy in the area. “We have started arresting the suspects in the case.”
