Atiq Ahmad's killing: Shooter Luvlesh Tiwari's Facebook posts declared his intention back in 2019
LUCKNOW: Aap kaun sa kaam karne ke liye paida hue the? Mafia Boss (What were you born to do? To be a mafia)
A Facebook post shared in 2019 allegedly by Luvlesh Kumar Tiwari, one of the assailants involved in the killing of Atiq Ahmad and his brother Khalid Azeem alias Ashraf, is being applauded now by a section of youths associated with right-wing groups.

Luvlesh, who prefers to add the prefix ‘Maharaj’ in his name, in another post, shared a picture with his friends with the caption “gundai karoge hamaare bazaar mein, toh goli maarenge seedha kapaar mein” (If you engage in hooliganism in our area, will shoot straight into head).

The album section of his social media profile has a couple of pictures of him with a pistol (supposedly prop), and venomous cobra around his neck just like shooter ‘Definite’ one of the characters of Gang of Wasseypur played by scriptwriter Zeishan Quadri— all bold enough to declare his intentions.

The other visuals on his profile such as a selfie with right-wing leaders, a portrait of self with muscle cars (probably owned by others), and some posts of racial nature suggest that Tiwari wanted attention as gang lord, a fact which his father Yag Kumar Tiwari also vouch for.

As per locals, tech-savvy Tiwari came into the limelight in October 2021 after he led a candle march following the death of a teenager in Banda.

“A 16-year-old Aman Tripathi had allegedly died by suicide, but some people wanted to flare up the case as murder and that’s when Luvlesh came. He led the candlelight march probably to garner support for the murder narrative,” said Kumar Satyam Tiwari (21),who is a member of RSS and BJP in Banda.
“On Sunday morning, when I saw his name as the prime accused in the sensational murder in Prayagraj, I realised that Luvlesh Tiwari was a hardcore criminal. He probably got drifted and came in contact with anti-social elements,”
Satyam had posted his anguish on Luvlesh’s act on Facebook, however, many of his acquaintances differed from his opinion and called Luvlesh a ‘krantikari’ (revolutionary).
Luvlesh’s profile mentioned him as an active member of Bajrang Dal of Banda unit as Zila Sah Raksha Pramukh. However, district unit president Ankit Pandey told TOI, “Luvlesh was not part of the organization and Bajrang Dal does not support his act of violence".
According to police, Luvlesh had four criminal cases against him, including one related to assaulting a girl in the middle of a public pathway, illicit liquor smuggling, IT act and assault.
“A few years back, he had slapped a girl after which he went to jail. He hardly spent time at home and had become a drug addict. The entire family had detached themselves from Luvlesh for many years now. The last time he came home was a week ago,” said Yag Kumar Tiwari, father of Luvlesh.
However, a social media profile suggested that Luvlesh was very much engaged in family functions and with family members. He had posted anniversary pictures, wishes and other posts which suggest he had cordial relations with family members.
