‘Intention was to sensitize varsity’
Vadodara: Professor Satish Pathak, who is facing an inquiry by MSU administration for his social media posts allegedly insulting MSU VC, told TOI that his intention was to sensitize the administration.
“I am myself a student of this university. I have started my career here. There are many issues related to students and teachers of the campus which need urgent attention. My only intention was to bring focus on these issues and not to insult any individual,” he said.
Pathak said that there are a plethora of issues that have surfaced at the campus. “Exams are not being held on time, results are not being declared on time, students are not getting degree certificates on time, convocation is not being held time and even if the convocation is held, there is utter chaos for which even university’s highest body – the senate – has apologized,” he said.
He said that even teachers have not got career advancement benefits since 2018 and there are issues of infrastructure facilities as well.
“All these issues are causing immense damage to the image of our university which is a great gift of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III. I made these posts with the intention to highlight these problems. But if the VC feels insulted, what about the indirect insult caused to 30,000-odd students,” he said. tnn
