KANPUR: Four members of a family were found brutally murdered in a shocking incident that occurred in Badokhar Buzurg village under the limits of Girvan police station of Banda district late on Saturday night.
The victims have been identified as Chunnu Kushwaha (70), his wife Kailashiya (68), their sister-in-law Brijrani (75) and their grand-son Priyanshu (8).
According to reports, the four victims were hacked to death with a sharp weapon, their bodies were found in a pool of blood in different parts of the house.
The incident came to light on Sunday morning when their neighbors went to their house to take them to the field for crop harvest.
Sources revealed that police officials are currently working to determine the motive behind the brutal murders, as well as identifying those responsible for the heinous act.
Banda superintendent of police Abhinandan confirmed that three teams have been formed to investigate the case.
"Prima facie it seems that these murders were done due to family enmity. Chunnu was having a dispute with his son with regard to some kind of family issue. His wife was also living at her parents house for the past few months. Chunnu's son was not at home for the last three days. Police have taken him into custody and his questioning is underway," said SP.
