
The Pune Police has booked a former corporator of the Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) Vivek Yadav, a BJP member, for allegedly assaulting a woman police inspector and other cops at the Lashkar police station when two rival groups had come to the police station to register complaints against each other.
The incident took place around 1 am on Saturday. An FIR has been registered by Inspector (Crime) Priyanka Shelke, of Lashkar police station. Police booked Yadav (40) and Pankaj Jagtap, based on the complaint filed by Shelke.
When the two rival groups came to the police station on April 14 night to register cross complaints against each other, Yadav allegedly created ruckus and started assaulting More. As the police officers rushed to intervene, Yadav and Jagtap manhandled Shelke and two other cops on duty. The two have been booked under Section 353 of IPC.
Yadav had been booked for multiple criminal cases in the past including a murder and also booked under stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
