Truck rams into bike, kills rider; driver absconding

Ludhiana: A 21-year-old man from Machhiwara died in a road mishap when a speeding truck hit his bike on Rahon Road. The Meharban police lodged an FIR against the unidentified driver of the truck. The deceased has been identified as Kulbir Singh (21) of Guru Nanak Nagar, Machhiwara.
Kulbir’s father Kuldeep Singh said that his son was going towards Basti Jodhewal Chowk on his bike. When he reached near a liquor vend on Rahon Road, a speeding truck hit his bike from behind. Kulbir fell down on the road and the accused driver crushed him to death. When the onlookers raised an alarm, the accused fled the spot, leaving his truck there.
A case has been registered.
